Sew Sweet
Sew Sweet opened its online shop in 2009, offering cute sewing patterns and at the time, just a few of my favourite crafting supplies.
Sew sweet is run solely by me Emma.
As the craft supplies side of the business grew i wasn’t able to continue with my designing and working on my sewing patterns so they took a back seat for a while. So for 3 years i continued with adding new and exciting craft supplies of all the things i love. I’ve missed designing and sewing so much and i truly believe in doing what you love, and lots of it! i took the decision to close the supplies side of my business down to concentrate on doing what I’m most passionate about and love more than anything else, my designing and sewing patterns.
You’ll find new patterns added weekly, i have so many designs which I’ve sketched out in numerous sketch books over the years that I’m sure you’ll find the perfect pattern for your projects. If you have any suggestions for new pattern sets that you’d like, please get in touch. I’m all ears! and its lovely to receive feedback from my customers.
About Me
hi! I’m Emma Digennaro and I’m the sole owner and creative designer for Sew Sweet.
I’m closer to forty than thirty, I’m a mother of two. My fav colour is pink, i love anything that sparkles, bold & bright colours are my thing. LOVE Retro 60s vintage. Orla Kiely.
My main love and passion is for drawing, designing and of course sewing. I’m also a hooker (crochet! what did you think i meant?) card maker, rubber stamper & a failing scrapbooker (but i do try)
Believer in karma, love good positive quotes to lift me up and an avid planner, list maker & slightly OCD with colour coordinating everything including my paperwork for the accountant!
My personal Journey
Early In 2011 i was diagnosed with cervical cancer which led me to closing the doors on the supplies side as i was unable to continue with the daily running of the shop.
I continued with my etsy shop selling my Patterns as an instant download while i was having treatment and recovering.
2015 – Cancer free!! awesome right! I began thinking about re opening the supplies shop, so i did! The shop took off overnight at a phenomenal rate. I stocked unique products where there was a huge gap in the market for exceptional quality, I filled it. After 2 years i realised this wasn’t the best decision for me and i really didn’t want to be picking and packing orders all day everyday (mostly 7 days a week) I wanted to be using those supplies myself, designing, sewing, crafting with all these beautiful materials. So again, took the decision to close the supplies shop and concentrate on my patterns.
2018 – This was going to be a HUGE year for me. The rebuild & re-brand of my new website. Finally finishing as many sewing patterns and getting them out there into the world. I was so full of excitement and couldn’t wait to get started!
On 1st January i went for a scan as been having for health issues, unfortunately I had two very large aggressive ovarian cysts and blocked/swollen Fallopian tubes. I had open surgery on 3rd April 2018 which was a success. and here i am now, today 5th May 2018 I’m writing my ‘About me’ in a nut shell. Happy, healthy and excited for the future.
To do a job which i love means the world to me, but i couldn’t do this without the help, support from my customers. I really hope you love my patterns as much as i do.
Thank you
