As many of you know at the end of last year i became very poorly again and had major surgery, which lead me to having to close for 7 months. When i reopened i kept the wool felt with the intentions of not only continuing with my designing of sewing patterns but also to bring back the sewing kits for them too. For many reasons i have decided that i would be much happier going back out into the world and working away from home.
Sew Sweet opened almost 10 years ago (5th April 2019), as many of you can relate, working from home has so many advantages but it also has its disadvantages. 90% of the time i feel like i’m living in a box and except for the post office trips i don’t go out for days as i’m always working. There’s never a cut off point and no guaranteed income which is always a huge worry and on my mind all the time as i’m sure it is for many of you too.
A few months ago i started working part time, this was a massive step for me as I’ve been self employed for 10 years. Thankfully, I absolutely love it. So, when a full time position became available to me i jumped at the opportunity!! Strangely, its helped so much with my anxiety and confidence.
So, back to the wool felt. Its takes a lot of time cutting it ready for orders, it takes up a whole room in the house and now working full time i wont be able to prep the kits as well as making the glitter balls and doing what you know is my real passion, my designing and sewing patterns.
Earlier this year the supplier raised the price by 16% ( which will go up again next year) I didn’t raise my prices to cover this price increase and kept it at the same price for you. At the end of the day, i’m a business. This is my sole income and the wool felt is not profitable enough to carry anymore. When your a business you have to remind your self, Time is money, and ‘Don,t be a busy fool’. I Love national non wovens felt which is why i continued to stock it and will continue to use this brand, this decision to stop supplying it has been so difficult because i love it so much! But as a business and so i still have time to do other things when im at home i need to discontinue it.
I will still be supplying wool felt balls and Glitter balls. My sewing patterns will also still be available and new ones will be released on a monthly basis now as the time i spent on cutting & packing felt orders will be spent on my sewing.
I have reduced all the wool felt on the website by 40% and FREE 2nd class delivery is still available on orders over £45
The felt will remain on the website until its sold out. No code is needed as prices have already been adjusted.
